The 2019 Dodge Durango will last without bigger changes if we can trust latest reports that circulate on the web. The familiar model is the only staying body-on-frame SUV from Chrysler and it appears it’s going to stay for a while more. The original version came almost two decades ago, in 1998. So far, we have seen three generations of this.
While the first two versions were in production for a 5-6 year per year, the present model seems to go to possess much longer production life. It is current since 2010 and present circumstances indicate that will persist for a while longer. We’ve already seen several upgrades and also the last one was only recently when we saw an ultra hi-performance SRT version.
2019 Dodge Durango Redesign
This recent update indicates that the present model will carry on for few years at least, while possible redesign or discontinuation shouldn’t happen before 2020. The 2019 Dodge Durango will likely come without bigger changes. This edition of the familiar SUV is current for almost eight years and we’ve seen several upgrades. The very first one was in 2014. We saw that a refresh of the outside design and this styling is still busy.
The 2019 Durango will include pretty much same appearance, which comprises those refreshed headlights and a lot of other details. There were two additional upgrades in 2015 and 2017, but those were not so significant. These refreshes were about new standard equipment and trim level reorganization.
Also, it is important to mention that the company presented a new, hi-performance trim recently. This version includes plenty of power but also features several special design characteristics. Several reports claim that the current model will continue together with the production for further few years, so don’t anticipate bigger changes for 2019 Durango.
Apart from new hi-performance SRT, 2019 Dodge Durango will come with four other trim levels in the offer. The following one is called GT. This one adds things like 20-inch wheels, LED running lights, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, 8.4-inch touchscreen, satellite radio etc.. A familiar Citadel includes leather upholstery, roof-rail crossbars, a sunroof, a power liftgate, a cargo cover and lots of other things. In the end, there is an R/T, including standard features pretty much like Citadel but comes with a V8 engine, an updated steering system, a sport-tuned suspension, red accent stitching and a Beats audio system.
2019 Dodge Durango Engine
The base 2019 Dodge Durango will last together with the familiar V6 engine. This unit has a displacement of 3.6 liters. It features a max output of 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in a set with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which provides electricity to rear wheels in regular or wheels in an optional package.
As we mentioned, R/T comes with a V8 engine. It is a 5.7-liter unit using a maximum power of 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. This engine also includes an 8-speed automatic and yields around 17 mph. It includes a 6.4-liter V8 engine, which has a max output of 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Release Date and Price
Since we probably won’t see larger changes, 2019 Dodge Durango should come in usual time. This means somewhere in late 2018. Also, we do not expect changes in price. Base models must go around 40.000 bucks, while the SRT will probably go around 65.000 bucks.
