Toyota is trying to enlarge its product portfolio and it’s also keen on appealing to the urban buyers having a penchant for stylish vehicles. The little crossover segment is laden with lots of options. The 2019 Toyota C-HR out of Toyota aims to be a crossover but it also has attributes of a hatchback. With its aggressive styling and emphasis on safety features, Toyota intends to woo peppy urban buyers with little families. First revealed in 2017, the model is getting a revamp for 2019.
2019 Toyota C-HR Overview and Exterior Design
The exterior styling of this approaching 2019 Toyota C-HR is daring and aggressive. The blend of this curve and sharp creases and stylish wheels appear enticing. It’s sold in colors like ruby flare pearl, blue eclipse metallic, black sand pearl, silver knockout metallic. Two-tone colors could be added at additional cost. There are two trims- XLE and XLE premium. The cabin is adequate, but you can see some cheap plastics in XLE trim. There are cup holders and a few small bins to store tiny items.
The infotainment setup used in the automobile lags behind what rivals from stables of GM and Ford offer. There’s no Smartphone support yet. Navigation isn’t included also. Just one USB port in the cottage is also something buyers will probably grudge about. The sad thing is that there are not too many customization choices or bundles. However, you still receive a couple of upgrade choices.
The 2019 Toyota C-HR gets good safety technologies and decent amenities. XLE trim gets 18-inch brakes, rear spoiler, automatic headlights, rearview camera, variable intermittent windshield wipers, Acoustic noise-reducing front door, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Remote keyless entry, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 2-zone automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen, HD radio. Safety features include ten airbags, traffic-adapting cruise control, forward collision warning and lane departure warning. The XLE Premium trim adds heated front seats, power-folding mirrors, blind-spot monitoring, integrated fog lights.
2019 Toyota C-HR Engine
Both the trims of 2019 Toyota C-HR are powered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain mated with a continuously variable transmission which makes 144 HP. That is adequate for town driving demands and fuel market is quite great. It includes EPA city/highway fuel market of 27/31 mpg. The ride isn’t exactly sporty, but you won’t feel the automobile to be sluggish either. The sad thing is AWD is not there- even as an option. That is where most rivals get an edge over the 2019 Toyota C-HR. There are three driving modes to choose from.
The new 2019 Toyota C-HR model will also have a Hybrid powertrain. The 1,8 DOCH 4 cyl engine with 105 lb-ft in 3600 rpm will be paired with an electrical engine. The electric motor will provide 53 kW using 120 lb-ft. This combination will produce a net output of 121 HP. But, we must mention that the Nickel Metal Hydride package that is now lighter and comes beneath the back seat floor. The estimated city/ highway is 58/53 mpg. Price and Release
The exact release date of 2019 Toyota C-HR is unknown, but it might be in overdue 2018. The foundation version 2018 Toyota C-HR XLE comes with the starting price of about $23,500. The price will go such as the $1000 destination charge. If you opt for the XLE Premium version with blind-spot tracking, fog lights and keyless ignition the cost will increase to 25,500.
